Dietitians: what they do and how to find one
A registered dietitian gives evidence-based nutrition advice for medical conditions (diabetes, coeliac disease, kidney disease), weight management and eating problems.
Always confirm that a provider is currently licensed and registered with the official national register — the Health Board (Terviseamet) in Estonia, or Valvira and the Kanta service in Finland — before you book. The guidance here is general information, not a referral, endorsement or medical advice.
When to see one
See a dietitian when a health condition needs a tailored eating plan, or when you want reliable, individual nutrition advice rather than internet trends.
How to find and register
"Dietitian" is a protected, registered title in a way that "nutritionist" often is not — check the register to be sure you are seeing a qualified professional. A doctor can refer you, or you can book privately.
City-by-city directories are being added from the official register. The guidance above applies wherever you live.
